QuickBuff Mold Release

Product Uses

QuickBuff Mold Release is an ultra-fast evaporating semi-permanent release agent. It completely cures in less than 30 seconds, with a work time of less than 10 seconds. It gives a high gloss, "Class A" finish with perfect detail, long cycle counts and high slip.

QuickBuff is a great choice for two person application teams covering large areas, or for one person application of small molds or areas.

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation:
The mold must be 100% free of dirt, wax, oil, or any other foreign material . We recommend using a mild grit compound such as 3M's Finesse-It followed by KADKLAD AllKleen to ensure a contaminant-free mold.

Application:
SATURATE a 100% cotton applicator cloth with release, and apply a heavy coat in a back and forth (not circular) motion. Cover a working area of approximately 2 sq. feet and immediately buff to a high gloss using a 100% cotton buffing cloth. Delay between application and buffing should be no more than 10 seconds, with an immediate buff recommended.

When starting a new area, re-saturate applicator cloth and overlap each new section. Continue in this fashion until the entire mold is covered.

Two coats will ensure that any areas missed the first time are coated with release agent. Allow a minimum of 10 minutes between coatings. If used on a new mold add one additional coating until you get a seasoned effect to your mold. Mold can be placed in production after the last application of release. If production requirements allow, an overnight cure will substantially increase the number of pulls possible before a touch up is required.

Touch-up:
Once the mold is in production, the release film will eventually begin to wear. To touch-up a mold simply wipe it out with a clean dry cloth and reapply KADKLAD QuickBuff as stated above.
